This is a wall-mounted work

Reclining Vishnu or Ananathaseyana shows Vishnu sleeping on the coils of his ardent devotee Anantha. The serpent’s head entwines from behind forming a canopy above his head. In this wooden sculpture, Vishnu’s feet rest on Lakshmi’s lap and various hermits are shown to have gathered above in salutation. The sculpture exhibits facial features typical of Kerala and is covered with polychrome, an element at times seen in wooden sculptures from the region.
